Featured Panelist: Melissa Overton
Empowered to Empower You will not just be talking about change on August 1st but we have the ‘change makers’ in the house! We are pulling together a panel of experts and we are proud to announce one of them today: Ms. Melissa Overton!
Melissa Overton is an Associate level Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Melissa has worked with families and children for over 12 years. She works with individuals, couples, and families and has extensive training in working with parenting issues, family turmoil, and trauma. She is most familiar with working with children who have experienced extreme neglect and trauma, and adult survivors of childhood abuse.
Melissa is an Army veteran who welcomes every opportunity to help her fellow comrades. She especially loves working with military families who have experienced having to relocate to various duty stations and encounter being separated from their loved ones. Her work aims at providing support and teaches new skills to family members to help clients move beyond the constraints of trauma and reestablish a tight family connection between all family members.
Another duty Melissa holds dear is helping veterans who have claimed PTSD due to Military Sexual Trauma (MST). She is the MST Coordinator at the Department of Veteran Affairs for Compensation and Pension benefits. She appreciates her position in that she is able to support veterans while helping them to provide the necessary information for their claim for PTSD due to MST. If you want more information or have any questions, please feel free to contact her at M.OvertonMFT@gmail.com or call at 425-205-5455.
Melissa will be on hand to offer her support and expertise during the conference!
